About BonLook:
BonLook was founded with the key mission of selling fashionable eyewear at a reasonable price to people in need of glasses. We strongly believe that the right to sight should be accessible for all; therefore BonLook has joined in on the great work of the nonprofit organization Helen Keller International (HKI) by donating 1% of its sales to HKI’s ChildSight® program in New York, which seeks to improve the vision and academic potential of low-income children who have limited access to basic vision care.
Helen Keller International (HKI), which was founded in 1915 by Helen Keller and George Kessler, is one of the oldest international nonprofit organizations devoted to preventing blindness and reducing malnutrition worldwide. Headquartered in New York City, HKI works in 22 countries: 13 in Africa, 8 in Asia-Pacific, and the United States. HKI’s mission is to save the sight and lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
BonLook is very proud to support the ChildSight® program in New York, which “brings education into focus™” for economically disadvantaged children in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx. Launched in 1994, ChildSight® goes directly into targeted schools to provide vision screenings, prescription eyeglasses and ophthalmic referrals as needed to underprivileged students – free of charge. To date, the program has screened over 500,000 children in New York and has provided over 55,000 children with free eyeglasses to help them focus and excel in the classroom and beyond.
